Personal: Began swimming competitively at age ten...As an able-bodied swimmer she was ranked in the top 20 nationally for the 1,500-meter at age 15 and dreamt of swimming at the Olympic Games, until she broke the bones in her left foot that would ultimately lead to its amputation...She was back in the pool weeks after her amputation in 2018, which was her first time back in a pool in almost two years...Hobbies include going on walks with her dog, reading, hanging out with friends, napping and finding good restaurants.
