Martinez began swimming in 2009 at age 14. She was diagnosed with Leber's congenital amaurosis at age three. She has always enjoyed swimming. As a pre-race ritual, she takes a gel shot before every race and receives a pep talk from her father....Daughter of Steve and Lila Martinez…Has one brother, Estevan…Hobbies include swimming, listening to music, singing and spending time with loved ones and friends…Has done a triathlon…Shows goats…Speaks Spanish… Enjoys playing with her guide dog, Philly.
