Currie made her way to the pool after a recommendation from a physical therapist and encouragement from her family...She has aniridia, a visual impairment caused by the absence of the irises and is legally blind....While she first got in the pool at age six months, she began training at age nine...After making her senior international debut at the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships, Currie has been a staple of U.S. Paralympic Swimming...Interests include kayaking, cooking and biking...If she had a superpower, it would be to fly...Favorite song is “7 Years”
