Personal: Gialamas was encouraged to try swimming by coach Glen O'Sullivan. Once she started, she found that she felt free in the water because she did not have to wear braces and was not sitting in a chair. She was born with arthrogryposis, which affects the use of joints and muscles. She began Para swimming in 2008 at the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association in Naperville, Illinois, and represented the U.S. four years later at the Paralympic Games London 2012.......Daughter of John and Lisa Gialamas…Has a twin brother, Matthew, and one sister, Tori…Interests include catching up with friends over coffee, cooking, listening to music and traveling to different places and seeing the world.
