Personal: Sydney was first introduced to Nordic skiing at a young age. She started skiing with MYSL and the St. Croix Valley ski club. In seventh grade, Sydney joined her High School's ski team, then later on she began training with Minneapolis Ski Club. She competed in the Junior Nationals in 2020 and received the Dave Quinn award. She now skis for St. Lawrence University, whilst undergoing a degree in Neuroscience. ...When Sydney was 13-years-old she developed reflex sympathetic dystrophy and dystonia in her left arm. Over time the dystonia progressed, affecting the mobility in her left arm and leg, which was when Sydney decided to branch out and try Para Nordic skiing. ...Sydney's parents are Jackie and Dale Peterson. She has a brother called Carson....Her hobbies include hiking, running, camping and gardening. ...Sydney's favorite thing about skiing is long distance adventure skis.
