USA-WSWS Wins 2022 NGB DE&I Award From USOPC
USA Water Ski & Wake Sports Oct. 28, 2022
USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a 2022 NGB DE&I Choice Award from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. USA Water & Wake Sports’ submission of the DE&I initiative – “Get on the Water Learn to Ski” – received the most votes among National Governing Body representatives for the under-$10 million annual revenue category. The award, which recognizes excellence in diversity, equity and inclusion, was presented at the TEAMS ’22 Conference, Oct. 24-27, in Oklahoma City, Okla. In addition to an award, the program will receive a $5,000 grant from the USOPC to help support the initiative.

U.S. Teams Selected For IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships

Four U.S. Water Ski Teams have been selected to compete in the 2022 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships, Nov. 29-Dec. 3, in San Bernardo, Chile. The teams – U14, U17, U21 and Elite – were selected based on a pre-determined selection criteria approved by the American Water Ski Association’s International Activities Committee and board of directors.

USA Water Ski Show Team Wins IWWF World Water Ski Show Tournament

The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the 5th IWWF World Water Ski Show Tournament, presented by Nautique, Oct. 21-23, at Lake Silver in Winter Haven, Fla. The tournament featured all-star show ski teams from the United States, Belgium, Canada, Germany and Sweden.

AWSA Approves Four Towboats To Pull Sanctioned Events In 2023

Four competition towboats from three manufacturers have been approved to pull athletes in sanctioned tournaments for the American Water Ski Association, National Collegiate Water Ski Association and USA Adaptive Water Ski & Wake Sports in 2023. The American Water Ski Association, National Collegiate Water Ski Association and USA Adaptive Water Ski & Wake Sports are three of nine sport discipline organizations of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, the national governing body of organized water skiing in the United States.

Stisher Wins 55K WEST #5

U.S. water ski athlete Seth Stisher (Johns Island, S.C.) won the 55k World Elite Slalom Tour (WEST) #5, Oct. 15-16, at the Swiss Waterski Resort in Clermont, Fla. Stisher defeated Casey Contos (Anderson, Ind.) in the head-to-head finals.

Louisiana-Lafayette Wins Syndicate Waterskis 43rd Collegiate Nationals

The University of Louisiana-Lafayette water ski team won the Division 1 national title at the Syndicate Waterskis 43rd Collegiate Water Ski National Championships, Oct. 13-15, at the San Marcos River Ranch in Martindale, Texas.

12 Athletes Win Titles At U.S. Open Water Ski Racing Nationals

Twelve water ski racing athletes won titles at the 17th annual U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships, Oct. 8-9, at Buena Vista in Bakersfield, Calif. The National Water Ski Racing Association, a sport discipline organization of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, hosted the two-day competition.
