Two U.S. Athletes Earn Placements At IWWF Cable Wakeboard Worlds

U.S. athletes Preston Persichetti (Orlando, Fla.) and Cathy Williams (Orlando, Fla.) advanced to respective division finals at the 2022 SINGHA IWWF World Cable Wakeboard & Wakeskate Championships, Nov. 1-6, at ESC Thai Wake Park in Rangsit, Thailand. More than 250 riders from 30 countries competed for IWWF individual and team titles.

Travers Ski School To Host 2023 IWWF World Water Ski Championships

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation (IWWF) has announced that the 38th IWWF World Waterski Championships will be held Oct. 8-15, 2023 at Jack Travers Water Ski School in Groveland, Fla. It will mark the second consecutive time that the biennial event will be held at Jack Travers Water Ski School. The tournament will feature an expected field of more than 200 water ski athletes representing 35 countries.

AWSA IAC Seeks Officials For 2023 Events - Deadline Extended to Nov. 8

On or after December 15, 2022, the AWSA International Activities Committee (IAC) will nominate officials for the 2023 international events listed below. To be considered for any of the listed events, you MUST COMPLETE AND RETURN THIS FORM (EMAIL IS PREFERRED) NOT LATER THAN November 8, 2022. The IAC will make its recommended nominations to the AWSA Board, which will finalize the nominations. All persons having responded to this notice will be informed of the Board’s final nominations. Note that for those events which are listed on a “tbd” basis, we will resolicit interest once the dates and/or locations have been announced.

Llewellyn, Straltsova Win Florida Cup – WWS Overall Tour Final

Dorien Llewellyn (Canada) and Hanna Straltsova (IWWF) won the men’s and women’s titles, respectively, at the final stop of the World Water Skiers Overall Tour, Oct. 28-29, at Action Water Sports in Polk City, Fla.

USA-WSWS Wins 2022 NGB DE&I Award From USOPC

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce it is the recipient of a 2022 NGB DE&I Choice Award from the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. USA Water & Wake Sports’ submission of the DE&I initiative – “Get on the Water Learn to Ski” – received the most votes among National Governing Body representatives for the under-$10 million annual revenue category. The award, which recognizes excellence in diversity, equity and inclusion, was presented at the TEAMS ’22 Conference, Oct. 24-27, in Oklahoma City, Okla. In addition to an award, the program will receive a $5,000 grant from the USOPC to help support the initiative.

U.S. Teams Selected For IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships

Four U.S. Water Ski Teams have been selected to compete in the 2022 IWWF Pan American Water Ski Championships, Nov. 29-Dec. 3, in San Bernardo, Chile. The teams – U14, U17, U21 and Elite – were selected based on a pre-determined selection criteria approved by the American Water Ski Association’s International Activities Committee and board of directors.

USA Water Ski Show Team Wins IWWF World Water Ski Show Tournament

The USA Water Ski Show Team won the team title at the 5th IWWF World Water Ski Show Tournament, presented by Nautique, Oct. 21-23, at Lake Silver in Winter Haven, Fla. The tournament featured all-star show ski teams from the United States, Belgium, Canada, Germany and Sweden.

Lang Sets Pending World Tricks Record
