The Liquid Edge To Match Donations To Support Live Webcast

The Liquid Edge has announced it will be matching donations to support the live webcast of the 79th GOODE Water Ski National Championships. As of June 10, 2021, donations were at $15,900 of the $21,405 goal. The Liquid Edge will match all donations up to $5,000 total between June 8, 2021 and June 15, 2021 to make this webcast happen. Click Here To Donate

Morilee U.S. Open of Water Skiing Set For Aug. 12-13

The U.S. Open is returning…and it is returning in conjunction with the 2021 GOODE Water Ski National Championships. The 24th Morilee U.S. Open of Water Skiing, presented by OJ Props, will be held Aug. 12-13 at Waters Edge in Wilmington, Ill. Held in conjunction with the 79th GOODE Water Ski National Championships (Aug. 8-14),  the U.S. Open will boast the second-largest cash prize purse of the 2021 season, and it will be one of only two pro events to feature all three water ski disciplines for both genders, including the only overall cash-prize event of the season. It will mark the first time since 2016 that the U.S. Open is being held and the first time since 2003 (Santa Fe, Texas) that it is being held in conjunction with the GOODE Nationals. On Site Camping Reservations Now Being Accepted

RV/Motorhome overnight camping will be allowed at the GOODE Nationals. Click Here to Reserve On Site Camping At Waters Edge. The cost will be $35 per night. Unfortunately, there are no hookups. The LOC is working on a mobile service to provide water and dump service for those staying all week. Pull-behind trailers and pop-up campers will be allowed upon approval of Waters Edge. On Site Volunteers Needed For 79th GOODE Nationals

Waters Edge is looking for volunteers to help run the GOODE Water Ski National Championships, Aug. 8-14, in Wilmington, Ill. We need dock starters, camera operators, and webcast announcers.  Click here to pick a time(s) throughout the week that you can give back to the sport. Any help is appreciated.  The time slots are 90 minutes long, so please check the schedule to make sure it does not conflict with any of your events. Tournament Classification Update For 79th GOODE Nationals

With the exception of the Open events, all divisions and events at the 79th GOODE Water Ski National Championships will be run as a Class E unless the skier chooses Class L during registration.  Open events will be Class R.  

Slalom Rope Options Announced For 79th GOODE Nationals

For the 79th GOODE Water Ski National championships, slalom skiers will have their choice between two standard ropes, either the Dlx Optimized 2.0 or the Dlx Pro Mainline. The default rope will be the Optimized 2.0. Skiers will need to request the Mainline to be used at the starting dock. Optional Two Lighter Towlines:a. The “mid-rope” 8mm may be used if requested in Class E in B1-3, G1-4, W6, and above. In Class L it may only be used for B/G1-2-3. b. The “light rope” 5mm may be used if requested in Class E in B1-2/G1-3. It can NOT be used in Class L/R. As per the rules...If different rope specifications are used, skiers will be permitted to choose which rope to use. No re-ride will be granted if a skier receives the wrong rope.A skier cannot provide his/her own slalom rope.

The world’s largest three-event water ski tournament will be held Aug. 8-14, 2021 at Waters Edge Estates in Wilmington, Ill. Waters Edge Estates previously hosted the Nationals in 2010 and 2011. The nation’s top water ski athletes will compete for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in respective age divisions and two Open divisions during the seven-day tournament. Advancement to the world’s largest three-event water ski tournament is primarily earned through placement on the national rankings list. Athletes also can qualify by placing in the top-five in the previous year’s Nationals or at respective 2021 regional championships. View Tournament Schedule (PDF).

Waters Edge Estates in Wilmington, Ill., will host the 79th GOODE Water Ski National Championships, Aug. 8-14, 2021. Waters Edge, a two-lake world-record capability water ski site, previously hosted the Nationals in 2010 and 2011. It also will host the 2021 Midwest Regional Water Ski Championships. The nation’s top water ski athletes will compete for national titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall in respective age divisions and two Open divisions during the seven-day tournament. Advancement to the world’s largest three-event water ski tournament is primarily earned through placement on the national rankings list. Athletes also can qualify by placing in the top-five in the previous year’s event or at respective 2021 regional championships. The first national championships was held in 1939 at Jones Beach in Long Island, N.Y. Except for three years during World War II (1942-1944), the Nationals has been held every year since 1939. GOODE Skis, a National level sponsor of USA Water Ski & Wake Sports, has been the title sponsor since 2000.
