Registration FAQs

  1. Does each individual athlete need to have their own account in order to register?
Yes, all athletes must have unique accounts in order to register for this event. Group registrations are not permitted. If you would like to submit payment on behalf of one (1) or more athletes via invoice or mailed check, please email indoorhp@usav.org to request an alternative form of payment. Once approved, you will then receive a registration code that will allow you to bypass payment at the time of registration, but all athletes must register online.
  2. If I have previously registered athletes for this event, will I be able to use the same login information as in previous years?
Yes, but keep in mind that each individual athlete will be required to use the previous year’s login and each individual athlete has her own individual record in the system.
  3. I don’t know the details of my travel itinerary at the time that I am completing registration, what do I do?
If you do not have the details on your travel itinerary at the time that you register, you may re-enter the registration process up until Feb. 13 to submit your travel itinerary details. Select the “Login & Register” link above, and then continue through the same set of steps to re-enter your information and update your travel itinerary. REQUIRED FORMS:

  • U.S. Olympic Training Center Online Forms - Each athlete is required to complete and submit online paperwork for the U.S. Olympic Training Center (OTC) prior to participation in the tryout. Approximately 1-2 weeks out from the tryout you will receive an automatically generated email from the U.S. Olympic Training Center to complete your forms online (you will be required to provide personal information for each athlete). If you have not received this email one (1) week out from the program, please contact us at indoorhp@usav.org.
  • 2018-2019 USA Volleyball Medical Release Form – All athletes must bring a physical, completed copy of the Medical Release form with you to the tryout. You will turn in this form during check-in. DO NOT send in your Medical Release prior to arrival.
  • Membership - All athletes are required to have a current membership to participate in the tryout. We will provide a complementary membership, unless you have a current USA Volleyball membership (players coaching club volleyball or competing/officiating in a USA Volleyball region), for tryout participation. Please note that the complementary membership is only valid for this tryout and national team programming, if applicable. Athletes needing to renew their membership will be contacted with instructions to do so .
  • Copy of Insurance Card - Tryout participants are required to provide proof of valid health insurance coverage upon their arrival at the tryout. USA Volleyball will provide sport accident insurance for injuries sustained during the tryout process. This will be a supplemental coverage to their personal coverage and does not cover non-tryout related illness or injury.

ELIGIBILITY: The tryout is open only to U.S. citizens meeting the age requirements previously addressed at the top of this page. Participating athletes, regardless of age, must possess a working knowledge of offensive/defensive systems and terminology consistent with that of a typical mid to high level collegiate program. Participating athletes must also possess a level of athleticism, fitness and technical ability consistent with that of a high level collegiate player. Questions regarding this should be directed to Meredith Lee at (719) 228-6800 or meredith.lee@usav.org. Participants unable to meet these requirements will not be accepted for the tryout or may be removed from further tryout participation. No refunds will be offered in the latter case.

WAVE ASSIGNMENT: All athletes are assigned to one session on Friday, March 1. The sessions are at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. MT. The actual session to which an athlete is assigned depends on a few factors, one of which is arrival time to Colorado Springs. The reason why we recommend that an athlete arrive on Thursday or "as early as possible" on Friday is to allow for travel delays and also to give time for the athlete to check in for the tryout, get something to eat, and possibly even some rest in advance of the tryout session.

U.S. WOMEN’S AND COLLEGIATE NATIONAL TEAM SELECTION: Throughout the tryout process, USA Volleyball will be identifying prospective athletes for the following programs:

U.S. Women's Senior National Team – Athletes who have concluded their college eligibility and who wish to be invited to be a member of the U.S. Women’s Volleyball National Team on a full-time basis. This program could begin as early as the spring of 2019, or when an athlete’s scholastic or professional club season has concluded.

Also considered for training with this group will be athletes who have remaining college eligibility. Their participation will begin in mid-May or when their scholastic calendar ends for 2019.

U.S. Women’s Collegiate National Teams (CNT) – Athletes born 1999 or earlier and with collegiate eligibility remaining for the 2019 collegiate season may also be invited to participate with one of two possible USA Collegiate National Teams (CNT).
