Membership FAQ

Common Questions About USAV Membership

  • I don't know my username and password

  • We moved to a different region and I can't change it in my account

  • We have three memberships and I don't know how to separate them

  • I need to change my child's club name

  • I forgot to add my child's club

  • I need to change my membership from a player to a coach

FAQ

Each region has a variety of registration levels from which to choose. Check with your region to see which types are available in that region. In general, they are:

  • Adult (for players, coaches, officials)
  • Junior Volleyball (for players ages 18 and under)
  • Youth (for players ages 11 and under)
  • Outdoor (for late spring/summer only play)
  • One Event (for one event USAV sanctioned play)
  • League (for 8-12 week limited play only leagues)
  • Other (fan, chaperone, leadership, etc.)
Yes! You can be on a different USAV team, while playing park and rec, or sign up your whole team and play USAV events as well. Some of the 40 regions may choose to run a friendship tourney period that runs in the fall, which allows players to practice and/or play with various USAV teams in advance of the regular season. Contact your region for details.

Coaches for youth, junior and adult play, must be registered members of the region in which they live. Since 2005, USA Volleyball has been protecting the children who play by requiring coaches who work with players under the age of 18 to have a current background screening.

U.S. Center for SafeSport "Core" Training is required training for adults who have regular contact with amateur athletes who are minors, and/or have regular contact with or authority over an an amateur athlete who is a minor. The training must be completed before regular contact with an amateur athlete who is a minor begins; or within the first 45 days of initial membership, or upon beginning a new role subjecting the adult to the MAAPP. 

Coaches are also required to have the USAV IMPACT course certification in order to coach in a junior program. IMPACT is a four-hour clinic presented either locally onsite through your region office, or online through the national office. Contact your region for the schedule of local IMPACT clinics or register for IMPACT OnDemand.

All referees and scorekeepers must be registered members and background screened by the region in which they live. Depending on the level of certification and the region, requirements vary. Each region sets its own limitations and needs for that area on regional requirements. It is best to check with your region and official's chair for full listing of same.

IMPACT helpful hints

  • IMPACT onDemand will not run properly on any mobile device, you must use either Windows PC or Mac computer

Youth, junior volleyball or adult - even beach, you can start a club by contacting your region for its information to register your players and coaching staff. Visit our resources section for more information about starting a new volleyball club.
You, your club, and your region will use the new USA Volleyball member management system to purchase memberships, build rosters, and manage your club with your local region and USA Volleyball. Your region will share more information on processes in your area as we get closer to the start of the 20-21 season.
Your region will communicate information on how you’ll need to interact and use the system to be successful and abide by regional policies. There are also help articles and videos available for you anytime.
  1. You’ll need a FREE SportsEngine HQ to access the system. Claim your SportsEngine HQ account if you have not done so.
  2. There are free club management tools available once you claim your HQ that you can check out now. The area where you’ll manage things for your region and USAV will be live on Sept. 1.
  3. Check out the video mini-series on the new system (you will need to have claimed your FREE HQ and login before you can view)
You’ll still purchase your membership through one of the 40 regions and adhere to their policies and procedures. You’ll receive additional instruction from your region and/or club as we get closer to the 20-21 season.

To assist with accurate transfer of data during this transition, please be aware of the name/email/zip code/member ID# in your current Webpoint account. We recommend printing your member ID card to keep this information handy during the transition. You can do this by hitting the "print member card button" from your current account.
