What is your tryout cancellation/transfer policy?

Families may request a transfer or cancellation for a current tryout registration at any time up until the start time for the tryout. Transfer and cancellation requests for tryouts must be completed in advance of the start time of the tryout. To make your request or for further clarification, please contact beachhp@usav.org. Cancellations requested in advance of a registered event will be refunded less a $20 administrative processing fee within 1-2 weeks of request submission date.

Can I transfer my tryout registration to a different tryout location or date?

Yes, to transfer from one tryout date and/or location to another, complete the following steps before the tryout you are currently registered for begins:

1. Login to your account: https://ssip.ex3host.com/usav/login/login.aspx#
2. Select “My Options” in the left hand column then "MY USAV Events"
3. Click on the tryout that you are currently registered for, that you would like to transfer from to highlight it. Once the tryout is highlighted, click the “Transfer Tryout” button.
4. Click “Ok” in the pop-up window and then follow the registration steps for the new tryout that you are transferring to.
5. You will receive a new confirmation email for the tryout that you have transferred to. You are now registered for the new tryout date and location.

How do I cancel my tryout registration?

1. Login to your account: https://ssip.ex3host.com/usav/login/login.aspx#
2. On the left menu, under “My Options”, select “My USAV Events”
3. Select the tryout that you have registered for, and then select “Cancel Tryout”
4. Review the details of the transaction that you wish to cancel, and confirm the cancellation request. Your tryout registration has now been cancelled and your refund will be processed within 1-2 weeks.
*Please note that “No Shows” (athletes who do not show up for an event that they are registered for) are not eligible for a refund or transfer to a different date or location unless the request for cancellation or transfer was completed in advance of the start time of the event that they registered for. If you do not show up for an event that you are registered for and wish to participate in a tryout at a different date or location, you will be required to complete a new tryout registration.

Which position should I play?

We understand that many volleyball players play more than one position. We recommend that you try out for the position in which you are most successful. You must choose one position per tryout, as our evaluators are looking at skills specific to each position while evaluating. If you wish to be evaluated in more than one position, you must tryout more than once.

Selection camp or tryout?

Beginning in 2019, there will be no selection camps for summer programming at any level. All athletes are required to tryout at one of the standard beach tryouts held each spring to be eligible for summer programming.

Should I attend more than one tryout?

  1. Yes, if you leave the tryout and think, "That was the worst volleyball I've ever played and is not representative of me as a player."
  2. Yes, if you are sick or injured and feel that you could perform better another time.

How do I get involved if I'm a U.S. citizen living abroad?

USA Volleyball High Performance understands the struggles that U.S. citizens living abroad may face when it comes to access to tryouts and programs. Often, families live overseas for work or because of military commitments and athletes miss out on the ability to gain access to the USA Volleyball High Performance Athlete Pipeline.

Athletes with U.S. Passports living permanently or temporarily in a country other than the United States may try out for USA Volleyball High Performance National Team Programs, provided they have not played for or registered for another international Federation at any time. As long as those requirements are met, an athlete has two options to try out for USA Volleyball High Performance Programs:

  1. Travel to the United States at some point during the tryout season and attend a tryout at one of the locations across the country.
  2. (or) Send an e-mail to indoorhp@usav.org including your First and Last Name, Gender and Date of Birth to express your interest in participating in USA Volleyball High Performance.

Players must register for and submit the tryout video NO LATER THAN two weeks prior to the final tryout date for the season for that gender.

National Training Program Registration

How do I find my results to see if I made a program or alternate list?
Follow the steps provided in this PDF that give step by step registration instructions: Step by Step High Performance Program Registration Guide

I forgot my username and/or password, and I have not received an email from the registration system to reset it.
If you are unable to login to your account to register, please send an email to beachhp@usav.org with the subject line “Reset my Account Password”. Be sure to include the athlete's full name and date of birth in the email for our references.

I was locked out of my account due to too many attempts at login.
If your account is locked, please send an email to beachhp@usav.org with the subject line “Unlock my Ex3 Account”. Be sure to include the athlete's full name and date of birth in the email for our references.

The window for my invitation has passed, how can I get my athlete registered?
If you have been accepted for a waitlist program, you have a limited amount of time to accept that invitation by completing registration and payment. After the invitation window expires, your spot will be offered to another athlete. Once that window has passed, you may email the age group representative for that program to see if a spot may come available, however there are no guarantees.

Do I have to pay the full amount of the program at the time of registration?
In order to complete your registration, you must pay for the program in full at the time of registration. We do have payment plans available as needed. If you would like to request a payment plan, please send an email to beachhp@usav.org with “Payment Plan Request <Program Name>” in the subject line.

I need to select clothing items, but it's not working.
First, click on the item to highlight it blue. Then, you can select a size and gender for each item.

Where are the USA Volleyball Medical Release, Social Media and Ethics Agreement forms located?
Forms can be found at these links: Required forms are the  2018-2019 Player Medical Release FormEthics Behavior Agreement, and Social and Digital Media Guidelines. These forms are not needed to complete registration and do not need to be uploaded into an Athlete's Ex3 account. The Non Guardian Departure Form (for when an athlete leaves a program on the last day with an individual other than their designated guardian) and Temporary Release Permission Form (only for programs longer than five days in length; for when an athlete would like to temporarily leave a program with a designated guardian for various reasons) are only required for the outlined circumstances. Bring completed forms with you to all training program.

I submitted a wait-list registration for my athlete as an Alternate. When will we know if he or she has been accepted or not?
The process of bringing move-ups for all eligible Alternates can take anywhere from a three days, three weeks, or longer. We have no way of predicting how many athletes will accept their invitations, and every round of players invites will have the full 72 hours to register. We do not release the order of number of alternates per player positions or  the order of which athletes are to be invited. If your athlete has been accepted into a program, you will be notified via email and have the full 72 hours to accept the invitation.

What is your program refund/cancellation policy?
Athletes who are registered for a National Training or Skills Program are eligible for a full refund less a $50 administrative processing fee only if requested within two weeks (14 days) from the date that the program invitation is posted to the athlete’s Ex3 account. Cancellation requests after this time period are ineligible for a refund. Please note that all athletes are required to acknowledge and agree to the refund policy prior to completing the registration process.

To request a cancellation, please send an email to beachhp@usav.org including the following information in the subject line of the email: Cancellation - Program Name (ex: Girls A3 Program - Colorado Springs), and Athlete Name. All cancellation requests must be made in writing via email.

REGION HP: Athletes who have registered for a USAV HP Training Program at the A2 Level or below who subsequently are invited to a Region HP tryout or training camp that conflicts with the USAV HP event will be given consideration for a full refund. All cancellation requests on behalf of Region HP athletes must be submitted to beachhp@usav.org as soon as possible or within 24 hours following the official region announcement of selection to a team.
