Coordinator, Beach Events

Job Description
The Coordinator, Beach Events is a regular full-time position reporting to the Manager, Beach Events. This position assists in coordinating all aspects of event planning, management and customer service of USAV beach events including: National Beach Tour (NBT), Collegiate Beach Championships and various other USAV-hosted beach events. Organizational skills are required to plan, prioritize and organize diversified workload. This position requires work in an office environment and at beach event locations working long hours under the sun and in sandy conditions. Extended hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Torrance, California.

Requirements
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Provide support to Manager, Beach Events in administration, event management, communications, VIK, budgeting and customer service
  • Provide customer service to USA Volleyball members, regional volleyball associations, event promoters/hosts, participants and prospective members/participants in relation to NBT and other USAV-managed beach events
  • Maintains online registration system for all USAV junior beach events
  • Coordinate logistics, seed tournaments and provide onsite support at select NBT events
  • Collect results from NBT BNQ events and enter/post results in USAV Junior Rankings System
  • Produce correspondence, proposals, reports, recommendations, and any projects as requested
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Communications department to produce and provide content for marketing and promoting events including but not limited to website, social media, online resources, brochures, fliers, etc.
  • Assists with planning and coordinating schedules and activities for NBT events
  • Works with Beach Events Manager to create content for instructional materials, website content, registration, events and distribution of information
  • Works with NBT BNQ Hosts to confirm schedules, logistics and publicize events
  • Maintains accurate, complete and organized files
  • Properly pack and organize shipments to event hosts, USAV events and regions
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sports administration, related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience coordinating sport events or related field
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
  • Be able to safely and comfortably lift 50 pounds
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date)
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport Certification within two weeks of hire date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with budgeting is a plus
  • Working knowledge of beach volleyball events

Assistant, Warehouse Operations

Job Description
The Assistant, Warehouse Operations, is a regular full-time position reporting to the Manager, Warehouse Operations.The successful candidate will be an experienced professional tasked with assisting in all aspects of support. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Requirements
Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Assist with warehouse operations using forklift/pallet jacks and other equipment to load and unload equipment trailers
  • Assist with the scheduling of outgoing and incoming freight shipments
  • Assist with preparing, packing, distributing or shipping all materials as required
  • Heat press and inventory High Performance tryout apparel
  • Assist with the repair of event equipment and shipping containers
  • Provide warehouse support for USAV staff
  • Process shipments and inventory for events department
  • Assist with the catalogue and disposal of archived records

Qualifications
  • Warehouse operations or equivalent work experience

Job Description

The Coordinator, Coaching Education reports directly to the Manager, Coaching Education. This position is responsible for assisting with scheduling, coordinating, posting, course administration/certification duties for both onsite and online IMPACT and Coaching Accreditation Program courses, and other duties as requested. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Requirements

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Creates course registration pages and monitors registration numbers in Webpoint
  • Assists with maintenance of the Education course calendar and information pages on the USA Volleyball website
  • Assists in reviewing and updating curriculum and course presentations
  • Assists manager with departmental budget responsibilities
  • Completes course financial breakdowns
  • Assigns revenue coding to income payments received (checks and credit cards)
  • Maintains CAP course-related web pages, online course registration pages, CAP course schedule page and assists in testing for new processes within the registration process
  • Maintains and implements online registration and email responses for registration, testing, and follow up certification
  • Updates database for coaching certifications and recertifications
  • Processes pre- and post-course student paperwork
  • Processes invoices, refunds, and itemized financial reports for Coaching Accreditation Program (CAP) courses
  • Assists department staff with on-site course logistics before, during and after CAP events
  • Coordinates IMPACT program (foundational level of coaches’ education), including, but not limited to communication with Regions, IMPACT instructors, coaches and updating material as needed
  • Creates post-course surveys, compiles data, and shares with host and department
  • Creates and sends eblasts and Facebook ads for courses
  • Assists in community volleyball education programs, including coaching clinics with local YMCAs and sitting volleyball experiences at the Olympic Training Center
  • Organizes and maintains VIK inventory 
  • Coordinates packing and shipping of course materials  
  • Monitors department emails, help desk tickets, and phone calls
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in education field
  • Strong organizational and customer services skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Experience performing data entry, running reports, tracking activities using on-line database systems
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date)
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport Certification within two weeks of hire date

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience with budgeting processes and or basic accounting
  • Volleyball related experience as an administrator or coach 
  • USA Volleyball education certification 
  • National Governing Body (NGB) experience is preferred but not required
  • Video production experience 
  • Writing and editing experience

Minimum Starting Salary

$16.30/hour – Commensurate with experience.

The Coordinator, Marketing reports to the Director of Marketing and will assist in creation and execution of strategic marketing plans and campaigns for USA Volleyball operations. Requirements

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Draft, develop and execute strategic marketing campaigns for events and programs with varying needs and concurrent timelines
  • Write copy to market, promote and build engagement around the athletes, events, USA Volleyball and the sport of volleyball
  • Contribute promotional content for USA Volleyball brand campaigns, magazine, newsletters, display and other paid media
  • Assist with creative strategy and project management of creative projects in conjunction with the strategic marketing plans
  • Coordinate and execute advertising campaigns via display, social media, radio, print, outdoor, TV broadcast, search engine, etc.
  • Organize and execute media buys
  • Analyze reports on advertising performance and provide recommendations on paid media strategy
  • Support merchandise strategy, design, fulfillment and distribution for USA Volleyball Shop, wholesale and consumer licensing program
  • Assist in brand management and stewardship regarding usage and guidelines for USA Volleyball marks and intellectual property
  • Research and conduct analysis of consumer behavior in addition to sports and marketing industry trends to provide insight into development of campaigns and assist in prioritizing marketing efforts

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum three years’ experience in marketing, advertising or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and strong project management skills

  • Must successfully complete SafeSport Certification within two weeks of hire date.

  • Experience in advertising and/or sales.

$38,500 - Commensurate with experience

Job Description
The Manager, High Performance (HP) manages all aspects of the Beach High Performance Programs to include but not limited to: tryouts, athlete depth charts, program planning and implementation, national teams, budget oversight and events execution. The position will include event oversight, data compilation and analysis, athlete evaluation and program staffing. Manage HP national teams and coordinate all aspects of staff and team selection, training, travel, and FIVB and NORCECA competition. This position requires excellent organization, communication, planning and coordination. The Manager, Beach High Performance for U13–U23 (age group) athletes is a regular full-time position reporting directly to the Director, High Performance. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Requirements

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Manage all aspects of the Beach High Performance Programs, including tryouts, summer and holiday training programs, coaches and year-round depth chart management
  • Serve as lead staff in the logistics and coordination of assigned High Performance events, national teams and programs
  • Create and maintain event registrations in HP online system(s)
  • Provide technical and conceptual recommendations for system and process improvements
  • Provide detailed data analysis and reporting to the department for planning and budgeting including participation, program expenses, program income, gear and apparel
  • Coordinate logistics throughout the year, including packing, shipping, organize, inventory, receive and ship equipment to and from HP programs

  • Experience with talent evaluation and comprehensive understanding of volleyball principles
