Job Description
The Manager, High Performance (HP) manages all aspects of the Beach High Performance Programs to include but not limited to: tryouts, athlete depth charts, program planning and implementation, national teams, budget oversight and events execution. The position will include event oversight, data compilation and analysis, athlete evaluation and program staffing. Manage HP national teams and coordinate all aspects of staff and team selection, training, travel, and FIVB and NORCECA competition. This position requires excellent organization, communication, planning and coordination. The Manager, Beach High Performance for U13–U23 (age group) athletes is a regular full-time position reporting directly to the Director, High Performance. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Requirements

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Manage all aspects of the Beach High Performance Programs, including tryouts, summer and holiday training programs, coaches and year-round depth chart management
  • Serve as lead staff in the logistics and coordination of assigned High Performance events, national teams and programs
  • Create and maintain event registrations in HP online system(s)
  • Provide technical and conceptual recommendations for system and process improvements
  • Provide detailed data analysis and reporting to the department for planning and budgeting including participation, program expenses, program income, gear and apparel
  • Coordinate logistics throughout the year, including packing, shipping, organize, inventory, receive and ship equipment to and from HP programs
  • Responsible for program and event management to include scheduling, planning, on-site support, staffing, budget and execution
  • Oversee assigned budgets including tracking, reporting and accountability for annual performance
  • Serve as primary point of communication for athlete, coach and family inquiries for assigned programs
  • Responsible for oversight of assigned tryouts/assessments, and programs to include selection of independent contractors and insuring contractual obligations are met
  • Perform administrative task associated with the above and as assigned
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree, business or sport administration or related degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum five years of relative experience
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
  • Experience with talent evaluation and comprehensive understanding of volleyball principles
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date)
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport Certification within two weeks of hire date
Desired Qualification
  • Experience with coaching or managing volleyball programs
  • Experience working with USOC/NGB/Region High Performance
Minimum Starting Salary
$46,300- Commensurate with experience

Assistant Coach, Women's National Sitting Team

Job Description
The Assistant Coach, Women’s National Sitting Team (WNST) is a regular full-time position reporting to the Women’s Sitting Team Head Coach/Program Director. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach with all aspects of the women’s sitting program to include, management of specific program matters, logistics, athlete selection and training, program development, athlete housing and video assessment. This position is located in Edmond, Oklahoma.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:
  • Assist with recruiting, evaluating and selecting athletes into the Women’s National Team program and pipeline
  • Prepare and manage the WNST budget in collaboration with head coach
  • Assist with coordinating all WNST competitions and camps
  • Assist with elite player selection and development with Manger, Sitting Teams Programs and A2 coaches
  • Collaborate with external providers to include but not limited to S&C, ATC, chiropractors and other fitness instructions and ensure contractual obligations are met
  • Assist the head coach with development training plan and training of resident and no resident female athletes and oversee daily resident practices
  • Coordinate the use of resident housing with the HP Siting Program Director including moving dates
  • Support personal and media appearance requirements
  • Work with athletes to ensure compliance with USAV, USOC and UCO policies
  • Submit reports to HP Sitting Program Director for necessary releases, website updates and stories, news and magazine articles and media publications
  • Provide input and recommendations regarding office, gymnasium, media and other operational needs
  • Assist with the maintenance of records on teams (competitive results, individual statistics, photo and biographical materials, alumni list etc.)
  • Assist the HP Sitting Program Director in program management matters
  • Archive, analyze and use stats and video from practices and competitions. Assist with implementing practical applications of stats and video in practice.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required - sports administration, coaching, physiology, exercise science, education or related field
  • Minimum three (3) years coaching at the elite junior, collegiate, national or international level; or the equivalent in competition and sport management
  • Previous work with Paralympic programs desirable
  • Proven ability to promote sport performance
  • Experience using DataVolley software is desirable
  • Demonstrated leadership of athletes and support staff
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date)
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport certification within two weeks of hire date

Qualifications

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated reliability and ability to perform under pressure.
  • Must be a self-starter with initiative and focus on details.
  • National Governing Body (NGB) or USOC experience preferred but not required.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport Certification within two weeks of hire date.

Job Description
The Coordinator, Officials Development is a regular full-time position reporting to the Director, Officials Development. The role contributes to all aspects of Officials Development programming and is primarily responsible for providing administrative and logistical support. Additional hours may be required to include nights, weekends and holidays, especially during the event season. The position is located in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Organize and support all officials’ training and educational programs including indoor, beach and sitting.
  • Manage officials’ registrations for the four national championships and High Performance Championships.
    • Select and secure officials for National championship – ensure all credentials are met.
    • Develop national event pre-tournament materials.
  • Audit and update records in USAV’s Member Management System for national certification requirements and national clinic attendees and candidates for Officials Development sites.
  • Responsible for the distribution and payment of contracts for coaches, mentors, trainers and clinicians for sitting, beach and indoor.
  • Secure OCRP (housing for officials at national events).
  • Research travel costs and submit Travel Authorizations, as needed.
  • Allocate VIK for officials at national events; and for coaches, mentors, trainers and clinicians.
  • Responsible for coordination of official’s event logistics to include pricing, packing and shipping supplies to clinics, camps and national events.
  • Assist the Head Coaches, Mentors and Trainers with logistics, materials and record keeping at development sites for sitting, beach and indoor.
  • Collaborate with communications and E-Learning staff all printed and electronic materials for all official’s training, educational, exams and development materials for beach, sitting, and indoor programs.
  • Contribute to content and assist with the publication of the Officials Newsletter.
  • Work with arbitrators and other constituents to update and maintain officials case books.
  • Support Officials Assembly and Commissions as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in sport management, business administration, related degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum three years of relevant work experience.
  • Volleyball and/or officiating experience is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Adobe Suite, Dartfish and social media programs.
  • Experience with videography, video editing, and web streaming is a plus.
  • Possess excellent written, verbal and organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Must be able to comfortably lift 30 pounds.
  • Must successfully pass a USAV background screening (prior to hire date).
  • Must successfully complete SafeSport training within two weeks of hire date.
