Registration 

Currently Registered Athletes

Athletes who registered May 28 or earlier will receive via email, a VIP link to continue participating in their currently registered events at the Collegiate Club and High School National Championships. Participants will receive via email, a VIP link to confirm their registration for the fall event. Please be sure to check you spam/junk folders if  you do not see it in your inbox by June 1, 2020.  If you do not receive your link, please email registration@usatriathlon.org.  Athletes will have until June 30 to transfer their registration.  

Athletes who do not wish to participate at the rescheduled 2020 Collegiate Club and High School National Championships in Lake Havasu City, AZ have the option to defer their registration to another USA Triathlon event including the), 2021 Collegiate Club (pending eligibility), 2020 Youth and Junior Nationals Age Group races (pending age requirements), or Duathlon National Championships, or another USA Triathlon-owned event in 2021 or 2022 — including Youth and Junior Nationals (pending age requirements), Collegiate Club Nationals (pending eligibility), Duathlon Nationals, Toyota Age Group Nationals (pending qualification) or the Legacy Triathlon. The deadline to transfer your registration to another event is June 30, 2020. Note that, beginning in 2021, High School Nationals will be discontinued and become part of Youth and Junior Nationals.

If you take no action, your registration will be automatically transferred on July 1 to the rescheduled 2020 event in Lake Havasu City in October, and you will receive a confirmation email. We encourage you to proactively transfer your registration to the October event by clicking on your VIP link you received via email. There is no benefit to this other than peace of mind, but we wanted to give you the option in case you already know your decision.

 
Deferrals
Currently registered participants can follow the below steps to defer to a different event after logging into myevents.active.com.  Athletes will have until June 30 to defer their registration.
  1. Locate your current registration
  2. Click Change event
  3. Select the New Event You Wish to Defer Into
  4. Select new event and year you would like to defer your registration to
  5. Click CONTINUE
  6. Verify Registration information
  7. Agree to the waiver
  8. Enter Electronic signature
  9. Click CONTINUE
  10. Click COMPLETE

If you have registered for multiple races in the same event, you will need to follow this process for each race (i.e. you registered for standard-distance and non-draft sprint duathlon races). If you do not transfer or defer by July 1, your registration will automatically transfer to the fall 2020 event in Lake Havasu City.  

If you have registered for multiple races in the same event, you will need to follow this process for each race (i.e. you registered for Olympic-distance and draft-legal sprint races).

Requirements:

  • Club must renew their membership with USA Triathlon. Clubs will be unable to register if they have not yet renewed for the current year. If you need assistance in renewing your club's membership, please contact collegiateclub@usatriathlon.org.
  • All clubs must compete the Eligibility Form for all club members attending Collegiate Club Nationals. The form must be signed by the Registrar. Please send all completed forms to collegiateclub@usatriathlon.org. All athletes must complete one conference event in order to compete in CCNC. Please refer to the collegiate competitive rules regarding exceptions.
  • Students must compete in one of their conference's season events.

Enrollment Types:

  • Athletes who were full-time students in spring of 2020 are eligible to participate with proof of enrollment from their school’s registrar. Submit your enrollment to collegaiteclub@usatriathlon.org.
  • Students who are enrolled in the final units necessary to complete their degree requirements in their final semester before receiving a degree may compete and score for their school at CCNC in any race. Due to fulfilling their final graduation requirements, they count as full-time students.
  • Students graduating in the fall/winter can compete and score at the following spring’s CCNC within the same academic year; they count as full-time students. Students in this circumstance are required to show proof of degree completion to collegiateclub@usatriathlon.org, Otherwise they are treated as part-time students.
  • Students who do not meet the requirements above, will be concerned part-time status. All part-time students can compete in the Olympic distance race at CCNC. They are eligible for individual awards/scoring, but will not be eligible to be part of team awards/scoring. Part-time students are not eligible to compete in the DL or MR races. Part-time students do not displace for team scoring.

Updated Cancellation Policy

Should the event be canceled due to COVID, the following refund structure would be implemented: 


1. On or before July 5  – 100% refund
2. On or before August 30 – 80% refund
3. On or before September 15 – 50% refund
4. On or after September 16 – No refund

 

Refunds will only be issued if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19-related issues.  Further, no refunds will be given if the athlete’s school does not fund their triathlon club or does not cover travel expenses. If the event is modified due to state or federal restrictions (for example, conditions necessitating a time trial start), refunds will not be given.

Olympic:

    • Note:  If your Collegiate Club is not listed in the drop down menu, this means that the club has not renewed with USA Triathlon.  Please reach out to your club administrator for details.
    • Note: If you are claiming a wave 1 or wave 2 allocated spot please make sure you select that wave within the registration.
  • Step 4: Check out

Draft-Legal:

  • Step 1: Registration site
  • Step 2: Draft Legal (password is shared via collegiate club commissioners)
    • If doing bulk registrations, simply increase the quantity of registrations on the same screen as the password. You must know exactly who is racing and have all of their information handy when utilizing this method.

    • Note:  If your Collegiate Club is not listed in the drop down menu, this means that the club has not renewed with USA Triathlon.  Please reach out to your club administrator for details.

Mixed Relay: 

  • Step 1: Registration site
  • Step 2: Mixed Relay (password is shared via collegiate club commissioners)
  • Step 3: Enter your relay team's information throughout the registration form.
    • Note:  If your Collegiate Club is not listed in the drop down menu, this means that the club has not renewed with USA Triathlon. Please reach out to your club administrator for details.

Schools paying for bulk registrations:

  • Step 1: Payment site: USA Triathlon Store
  • Step 2: Select ‘Buy’ under the Collegiate Olympic and/or Collegiate Draft Legal registration based on what you are purchasing.
  • Step 3: Select the number of registrations you need to purchase, add your school name and proceed to checkout.
  • Step 4: An email will be sent to the email address given during checkout with the discount codes to be used when the athlete registers for his/her event. It is the responsibility of the individual receiving this email to give the discount code to the appropriate athletes.

Participant List

Important Registration Information

  • There is no transfer or deferment of entries from one year to the next; you must re-qualify each year
  • There are no refunds
  • Athletes MUST be annual USA Triathlon members to race 
  • If at time of registration the athlete is not 18 years old you must select "someone else, 18 or older" when registering.
  • Registration will close on Oct. 9 at 11:59 p.m. MT or when the event sells out

Event Cancellation and Modification Policy

In the event of extreme weather, natural disaster, community disaster or other unforeseen emergencies, our action steps will be as follows:
  • USA Triathlon, in concert with local officials, will make the final decision based on safety of the athletes, spectators, vendors, volunteers and others affiliated with the event. 
  • USA Triathlon may, based on the conditions of the course, shorten the distances or cancel the event altogether.  
  • Because costs of the event have already been paid out to cover various levels of production expenses, there will be NO REFUNDS, transferred entry fees or future complimentary entry fees.
