Collegiate Triathlon Conferences

There are 10 USA Triathlon Collegiate Triathlon Conferences that are affiliated with the USA Triathlon Collegiate Club program. These 10 regional conferences lead collegiate clubs through local events and programs designed specifically for collegiate athletes. Each Collegiate Conference maintains a page containing results, schedules and additional information. The sport of triathlon has seen a tremendous amount of growth over the past five years especially within the college and university community, resulting in a steady increase in the number of participants and schools at this level. This growth is expected to continue and has demanded the development of new programs supporting the growth of the college-aged triathlon community.

Are you wondering how to start a collegiate club?  The commissioners have created a document that covers the major components.  If there are additional questions or roadblocks please reach out to your conference commissioner.

USAT Collegiate Multisport Development

USA Triathlon welcomes all colleges and universities to register their multisport club with USAT. By registering, your club will have access to resources available only to USAT registered clubs, including optional insurance coverage, grant opportunities, sponsor discounts, regional and national club competitions, and resource guides to help your club grow and succeed. Get Others Involved

The greatest encouragement to new members is the camaraderie and team support offered by the clubs and the healthy lifestyle advantages that multisports have to offer. It’s great for your health, fitness, cross training and stress reduction.  Multisport training often leads to expanding your social circles and leads to a positive sense of accomplishment.

For cross training, try some non-traditional, but very popular, distances and disciplines.

  • Triathlon: swim-bike-run
  • Aquabike: swim-bike
  • Aquathlon: run-swim-run
  • Duathlon: run-bike-run
  • Off-Road: swim - trail riding and running
  • On-Road: road riding and running (or multi-purpose pathways)
  • Winter Triathlon: run-mountain bike-ski (all on snow)
  • Indoor: pool-stationary bike-treadmill

There are various combinations of competitions, from splash-n-dash (swim-run) to formula 1 (run-bike-run-bike-run), so be creative. Mix it up between training, nutrition, healthy living and socializing to keep people interested and coming back year after year.


USA Triathlon offers an extremely successful coaching certification program and lists all current certified coaches here. Coaches may be available for full-time positions, part-time positions or special engagements and presentations for your club.
