2021 State Championships

*Race dates subject to change. USA Triathlon reserves the right to change qualifying events for any sanction-related issues. Check back for updates and please check individual race websites for the most up-to-date information.

Olympic-Distance State championships prior to and including August 1, 2021 will qualify the top 25% of finishers in an age group for the 2021 Olympic-Distance Toyota Age Group Nationals. No other distance or discipline at State Championships will allow for Olympic-distance qualification.

Sprint State championships prior to and including August 1, 2021 will qualify the top 35% or top 3 finishers in an age group (whichever is greater) for the 2021 Sprint Age Group Nationals. No other distance or discipline at State Championships will allow for Sprint qualification.

High School State Championships Exemption: All finishers of High School State Championships will automatically qualify for Sprint-distance (pending they are at least age 15 as of December 31, 2021.)

Any state championship that occurs between July 1 and August 1, 2021 will qualify for BOTH 2021 AND 2022 Toyota Age Group Nationals. The qualification criteria for 2022 Age Group Nationals is subject to change from what it is for 2021. Details will be posted later in 2021.

All-State Recognition

The USA Triathlon National Rankings are one of the great benefits you receive as a USA Triathlon annual member. Rankings allow you to see how you stack up against friends, family, co-workers and others in your age group across the country. This year, we will also be awarding All-American status for National Championships. For State Championships, the top 20 percent per age group and per gender will earn this recognition. Upon completion of the event, an electronic certificate will be sent to each athlete honoring their accomplishment. In addition, a complete list of all member rankings is posted right here.
