Parents are Michael and Gigi Danisewicz • Has three sisters, Kaitlin, Maddy and Yvette • First-ever triathlon was the Chicago South Shore Triathlon in July 2011 • Is most proud of winning her sport class at the Rio de Janeiro ITU World Paratriathlon Event on Aug. 1, which served as the Paralympic Games test event • Played volleyball and basketball growing up, and took up downhill skiing after losing her leg before she was introduced to triathlon • Had no background in swim, bike or run prior to taking up triathlon • Says the run is her favorite discipline because it "is the one part of the race where I just feel like I am in my element" • Considers herself a coffee connoisseur and loves trying new coffee shops • Favorite movies are Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Crash and Million Dollar Baby • Favorite magazine is Time • Favorite post-race meal is a good burger • Favorite pro sports team is the Green Bay Packers • If she could be a National Team-level athlete in any other sport, it would be beach volleyball
