Personal

 

Julia Taylor first discovered handball at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, coming from a background of softball, basketball, and track. A few months after joining the club team, she was named to the Women’s National Team pool in 2009, participating in her first international event in 2010. She spent a semester at the Idrætshøjskolen Handball Academy in Aarhus, Denmark where she played briefly for the 4th division club Christiansbjerg IF.


After graduating from UNC with a degree in Global Studies in 2012, Julia joined the Auburn Residency program to train full-time with the Senior National Team. In 2015, she signed a semi-professional contract with the third division club Aulnay Handball in Paris, France. In 2017 she obtained a a Master’s of Science in Sociology at the University of Paris-Diderot, and currently works for an NGO in the Paris area.
