Jennifer began playing handball in April of 2006 after being recruited by current coach Christian Latiliuppe.

As a high school athlete she was 12-year letterman in soccer, basketball, and track and field. She was part of two State Title teams, one basketball and one track and field, and earned seven personal state championships in high jump and discus. Her senior year, she was named 2002 Miss New Hampshire Basketball. She moved onto the America East to play basketball for Binghamton University.

Fithian was planning on going overseas to play basketball after graduating, but decided to give team handball a chance and subsequently tried out in Cortland, NY, for the USATH Residency Program. After being asked to join the Residency, she knew that she couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear the USA on the back of her jersey.

Fithian played handball professionally in Germany from 2009 to 2012 before moving back to the United States to start a family with husband, and fellow Team USA handballer, Jordan. In the summer of 2013, Jennifer gave birth to Charlotte Mae. In the summer of 2016, Jennifer had a second child, Jackson. She has since focused on returning to elite athlete form and is excited to again represent the USA on an international stage.
Fithian is the current head basketball coach at St. Paul's School in Concord, NH and works in the advancement department as an engagement officer.
