Personal: Began playing handball at six years old, so the sport has been part of her life for as long she can remember...Her adoptive father Manuel Vieira become her first coach and she became further immersed into the sport as the daughter of a coach...At age of 12, she was moved to Cape Verde's senior team and played her first international competition at age of 13 in Angola...Although she had the opportunity to continue her handball career in Portugal with the Sporting Team of Portugal, her family thought it was wiser to continue her education in the United States, where her mother lived...After graduating high school in Praia in 2011, she moved to the States and was excited because she could continue playing handball even if it was just as a hobby...She has been playing for Boston Team Handball Club ever since...She is grateful to this sport for providing her with the opportunity of meeting so many new people and learning about so many new cultures.
