A: No. To compete in the World Class division at the National Championships all athletes must have participated at a State Championship in a World Class division. Please see Attachment A of the State Association Manual for a list of World Class divisions.

Q: Why can’t I move my athlete from World Class to Grass Roots?

A: Once an athlete participates in a World Class division they are no longer able to return to Grass Roots because the World Class division uses Adult Sparring Rules (head contact) whereas the Grass Roots division uses Junior Safety rules (no head contact) For further explanation of these rules please see Competition Rules under the Events tab on our teamusa.org website.
