Atlanta International Table Tennis Academy

Last Sunday, August 17, 2014 in Duluth, GA, about hundred table tennis leaders, coaches and fans got together for a press conference on the announcement of creation of the largest Table Tennis Academy in US. Doru Gheorghe, CEO of USATT; Wendell Dillon, Chairman of Officials and Rules Advisory Committee at USATT; Bowie Martin, president at Butterfly North America, and local Chinese community leaders were among the group of distinguished guests. Former Atlanta Table Tennis Academy (ATTA) and Yang’s Table Tennis Academy have united and formed Atlanta International Table Tennis Academy (AITTA).

Shigang Yang, national Junior Boys’ Team coach and Hui Wang, the owner of ATTA, are the two founders of AITTA. Wang hao, former world champion team member of Chinese National Men’s Team, is head coach, and Jie Chang, ITTF level 2 coach, is the director. He successfully organized and hosted the press conference. AITTA has over 25,000 sf combined spaces in three locations in Metro Atlanta (Duluth, Johns Creek and Marietta), and has 11 full time coaches. Most of them are ranked top 30 in Men’s and Women’s in the county. Also we have several juniors are ranked top 15 in different age groups in US including Tom Feng, Emily Lin, Brandon Koh, Denial NG, Alex Yang, etc. At the recent GA Games-table tennis tournament, our junior players dominated many events, and won second and third places of Men’s Single event, and first and second places at U2000 event. They are the future of our sport in GA or in US.

That day, Junior Table Tennis Foundation (JTTF) created by our junior players was running a junior tournament at the same venue. During a break, the board members: Tom Feng, Ethan Jin and Betty Yu presented appreciation certificates to all sponsors and distinguished guests. JTTF donates funds each year to USATT since its inception. We are so proud of our young players.

We will focus on identifying and developing young talents and prepare them for future national competition with players from other top clubs. Meanwhile, we will never forget our responsibilities to our local community and to promote the sports among all nationalities.

We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to Doru, CEO of USATT and Bowie for attending our ceremony, and invite table tennis player visit us and train with our world class coaches.
