How you got into table tennis:
I started playing with my dad and 2 brothers in the basement around age 6. I found adaptive sporting competitions at age 13 such as the Michigan Victory Games, Thunder in the Valley Games and Junior Nationals.  I attended my first International Para Table Tennis Tournament in 2013 – The Mike Dempsey Memorial. I then found a coach and local clubs and began competing in sanctioned tournaments, including three US Opens.

Something interesting about you:
I am a multi sport athlete who played football, basketball and baseball as a kid.  In high school,I switched from football to tennis and played for 4 years (3 on varsity).  I was named First Team All county as a junior and to the County Dream team as a senior, competing in three State Finals Tournaments.  I also did track and field.  I was a two time high school All American in the long jump (named by USOC) and qualified for the US Team selection event for Rio 2016.  I had a stroke at age two that left me paralyzed on my right side.  I play all sports completely one handed and I wear a leg brace for foot drop.  I work at the local hospital in nutrition services.  I am also a respite care provider and a motivational speaker. I published my first book in April of 2017.

What are your Goals in the sport?

My goal is to play in the Paralympics and be named to the US National Para Team.

Describe your game or playing philosophy.
I try to play offensively, utilizing my athleticism and power to throw off my opponent.
