The mission of USA Judo will foster the growth of the sport of judo in the United States of America and competitive excellence by U.S. athletes in international and Olympic competition. The privilege of membership may, therefore, be withdrawn or denied by USA Judo at any time where USA Judo determines that its member or a prospective member's conduct is inconsistent with the mission of the organization or the best interest of the judo community, particularly its athlete community.

In order to ensure the safety of its athlete community, USA Judo is adopting USOC’s Safe Sport Training and make this training mandatory for all certified coaches and referees involved in judo in the U.S.

The new SafeSport LMS platform and three-course SafeSport training launched on Monday, October 2, 2017. Each of these three courses is approximately 30 minutes:

  1. Sexual Misconduct Awareness Education
  2. Reporting Child Sexual Abuse
  3. Emotional and Physical Misconduct

Upon completion of the online SafeSport training, individuals will be certified for two years.

A new SafeSport refresher course will be added to the platform in 2018. This will be an abbreviated version intended for individuals who have previously completed the three core SafeSport courses and need to recertify. Users completing the SafeSport refresher course will be certified for an additional two years.

NOTE: Even if users have an account on the previous system, they will need to create a NEW account when accessing the Center’s new platform.
