In-State Tuition Benefits

Available for select schools in Colorado, Utah and California

California, Colorado and Utah can receive in-state tuition at select public colleges and universities, regardless of an individual's resident status.

To be eligible, athletes must currently participate in a training program that is approved by both the USOPC and an NGB of an Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American or Parapan American sport.

USOPC Tuition Grants

Continuing education funding, open all year long ... 

The USOPC awards over $800,000 annually to Team USA athletes for education and vocational pursuits in the form of tuition grants. 

Tuition grants are available to current elite, internationally competitive Team USA athletes and all Olympians and Paralympians.

Athletes may apply for more than one grant per year, requesting up to $4,500/yr for programs on qualifying tracks, including:

  • Traditional Higher Education
  • Vocational Programs
  • Career Development and Life Training

Tuition grant applications are open all year, with award determinations being made weekly. With greater flexibility in the timeline, please consider the following when applying:

  • Apply for you tuition grant funding at least 1.5 months prior to your payment deadline
  • The maximum amount of funding that can be requested in calendar year is $4,500
  • You may apply for more than one grant per year (maximum of all grants awarded will be $4,500)
  • You must use all of your monies before applying for a new grant
  • If awarded, the full award amount is paid in one sum

Salesforce Athlete Reskilling Program

This self-paced, 8-week program will teach you in-demand skills, give you hands-on experience with technology, receive 1:1 mentorship, and connect with other athletes through curated content on Salesforce’s Trailhead platform. This program is designed to drive each athlete towards their unique path, with the goal of helping you land a job in the Salesforce ecosystem

The application will close on May 21, 2023 at 11:59pm MT, with the program capped at 30 athletes

ADE Career Conversations: Exploring the Medical Career Path

Are you looking to serve your community as a physician, surgeon, or pharmacist? Interested in pursuing a career in the medical field? This session is for you! This Career Conversation will feature a panel of successful athletes who have made the transition from sports to medicine. 

The panelists will share their personal experiences and offer valuable advice on how to navigate med school, discuss what they find most rewarding about the field, and how they chose a specific discipline. Athletes will have the opportunity to ask questions and network with the panelists and other athletes interested in the medical field.

Bolder Money 1:1 Financial Coaching

The USOPC is partnering with Bolder Money to bring you 1:1 financial coaching so you can learn how to better manage your finances, maximize the money you have, and put your financial worries on the backburner so you can focus on your training and goals beyond sport.

In this 3-month program, you will have access to a personal money coach and group coaching sessions with other athletes in the program. The first cohort will be capped at 50 athletes so reserve your spot today!

Paralympic Athlete Financial Consulting Sessions

Sign up now to reserve your spot for up to 2-hours of one-on-one advising with Josh Basile, Esq., a C4-5 quadriplegic wheelchair user, father, trial attorney, and disability rights advocate. 

We are excited to support our Paralympic athletes, Team USA athletes with disabilities, significant others, and/or family members in their consultations with Josh as they:

  • Start building out a custom game plan for navigating and enrolling in government, state, and federal benefit programs
  • Discuss strategies for requesting workplace accommodations and pay raises as a disabled person
  • Strategize how to maintain benefits through Medicaid buy-in programs or 1619 B family & community supports
  • Learn how to use Able accounts and/or special needs trusts
  • Talk about financial and asset considerations
  • Identify key factors and barriers to accomplishing employment goals and how to learn how to request accommodations in your career

Manager, Sport & Athlete Technology Products - USOPC

The USOPC is looking for a skilled product manager to join the Sport Operations team. This role will serve as the subject matter expert and business owner for multiple systems and solutions across the Sport & Athlete Services division. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing projects and systems, with expertise in Salesforce, Tableau, data warehouses, etc.
