Angelica Delgado is USA Judo’s top ranked hopeful for the 2020NE Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan…A United States Olympic veteran, Delgado represented the United States of America at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil…She is the daughter of Miguel Angel and Teresa Delgado …Has one younger brother, Miguel Angel Delgado, Jr…Her dog’s name is Roxy…Lists her mother and father as her role models saying: “They sacrificed everything so that I could be successful”…Also credits her father as the most influential person in his judo career stating: “without him I would’ve never put on a gi. My father was on the National Cuban Team for Judo and when I was nine years old he began to teach me in the backyard of our house”…Lists ‘honor, respect and self-control’ as the aspects of judo’s moral code that are most meaningful to her, saying: “I truly believe I have embodied all of these throughout my career”…Graduated from John A.
