Head Coach, U.S. Men's National Team

Rutger Wiese was appointed to the role of head coach of the U.S. Men's National Team in January 2017. Wiese was an assistant coach for the USMNT since 2013 and was part of the coaching staff when the team won the FIH Hockey World League Round 1 in Salamanca, Mexico in September 2016. He is also the head coach of the U.S. U-21 Men’s National Team. Under his direction, the team finished fourth at the Junior Men’s Pan American Championship in May 2016.

Wiese held previous coaching roles in collegiate Division I and II programs. He served as an assistant coach at Harvard University for four seasons (2012-2015), and was the head coach at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for more than six seasons (2003-2009).

As a player, Wiese has a wealth of international experience. He played as a defender at H.C. Bloemendaal, a major-league team in his native, The Netherlands. With Bloemendaal, he won three Netherlands national championships (1999, 2000, 2002), a European championship (2001) and a European silver medal (2000). In 2010, he won the Scottish national indoor championship with Menzieshill H.C.

"Rutger has assembled a committed and talented staff who are responsible for building male hockey as well as leading our national teams in international competition." 

“We’re going to build on the program’s foundation with an emphasis on making an even better transition between the junior national teams and the senior national team,” Wiese said. “I’m looking forward to working with the players and coaching staff to achieve our goals.”

Associate Head Coach, U.S. Men's National Team

Brian Schledorn was appointed as the Associate Head Coach for the U.S. Men’s National Team in January 2017. Volunteer assistant coach to the USMNT since 2015, he helped at the FIH Hockey World League Round 2 in Chula Vista, Calif. and PanAmerican Games in Toronto, Canada.
Currently he is also the program director for the club team RUSH Field Hockey located in Encinitas, Calif. (since 2009). He also held previous coaching roles at Rutgers University as Associate Head Coach (2003-2007) and assistant at Bates College (2002-2003).
Schledorn competed on the Junior U.S. Men's National Team for five years (1992-1997). During this time, he played in many international matches, including two men's Junior Hockey World Cup Qualifiers (1992, 1996) and served as team captain. His was also on the U.S. National Men’s team (1994-2000, 2005-2008) having played in two Pan American Games (1999, 2007) and was an Olympic Team Alternate (1996).
Schledorn graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Sport Management and California Culinary Academy with an Associate Degree in Culinary Arts.

Paramjit is a former junior and senior U.S. Men's National Team athlete. He is currently a Dita sponsored player, holds a USA Field Hockey Level 2 Coaching Certification and coaches within Futures. He also coaches in the SoCal high performance program and is an affiliate of the LA Tigers club team.
