More

Like many before him, DeAngelis started playing field hockey because of a sibling. When he was 13 years old, his entire family traveled to West Palm Beach, Fla. in November 2012 for the National Hockey Festival, where his older sister Brianna was competing. One can imagine how exciting it was for a young boy to travel to Florida for field hockey matches throughout the Thanksgiving weekend. To his surprise, there was a segment during Festival called "Grow the Game", where boys were proactively encouraged to grab a stick and come out onto the field for an introduction of the sport. During that moment, he thought, "finally I have something to do here and it really was fun."
