Personal: Lyle is the son of Tina and Mike Yost...He has four younger siblings: Derek, Leslie, Aaron and Mia...Lyle started diving at age age 8 and qualified for his first junior nationals in 2011. His first senior nationals was in 2015...He now trains 2 1/2 hours a day, five to six days a week...Lyle is known for his signature lucky hat, which he wears during competitions...He started wearing the hat at the USA Diving East Championships in Florida because it was sunny, and after turning in one of his best performances at a national meet, he started wearing it at all meets...His favorite dive is 203C on 3-meter and his favorite diver is Greg Louganis...Outside of diving, Lyle enjoys reading, drawing and photography...Lyle is involved in student council and his church youth group...He enjoys drawing and learning foreign languages...Lyle is active in the St. Baldrick's Foundation shave and is a participant in Breathe Respite, a community service event through his church...Lyle wants to speak eight different foreign languages one day...In 2017 Lyle won the Scholastic Art and Writing, Silver Key Award (Art) and the National Spanish Exam, Gold Award. He was named a 2019 National Merit Commended Student...He is a 3-time OHSAA State Champion (2017, 2018 and 2019)...Between dives, Lyle likes to hang out and talk to people.
