When did you start boxing and why: I started boxing at 12-years-old. My stepdad came into my life and refused to see us kids fall into the “bad crowd,” so he thought to take me to the boxing gym to show me how to defend myself, if necessary, and to also keep me out of trouble. Turned out, I liked it and was good at it. The rest is history.

Amateur Record: 18-7

Career highlights to this point: 2016 USA Boxing National Champion, 2014-2015 Battle of the Universe Champion, 2014 Brown Gloves Champion, 2015 Women’s Golden Gloves Champion, 2015 J.O. Champion, 2015-2016 Junior Open Silver Medalist. 2015-2016 Presidential Award for Physical Fitness, 2016 Cross Country District Champion, 2015 Homecoming Princess

What do you think is your greatest asset in the ring: My jab, attitude and ability to listen to my corner.

If you weren’t boxing, what would you be doing? I would rather not say, because boxing has saved my life and has given me purpose. Boxing has created a dream inside of me that nothing can take away.

Who has been your biggest inspiration and why:There is not one person, but many: God, my parents, my coaches and my entire team; in that order. They always push me to be the best, encourage me when I want to give up and they have always supported me no matter the outcome.

What motivates you the most: The fear of being ordinary; therefore, I strive to be extraordinary.

What are five things that most people don’t know about you: 1. I love nail polish. 2. I played the trumpet in junior high school. 3. My nickname was Buccee the Beaver when I was a child. 4. I want to own a bakery when I grow up. 5. I am a spelling be champion.

National titles won: 2016 USA Boxing National Champion, 2014 and 2015 Battle of the Universe Champion, 2015 Women’s Golden Gloves Champion, 2015 J.O. National Champion, 2014 Brown Gloves Champion.
