When did you start boxing and why: I began in 2010 when I was in college. I had just returned from a study-abroad in Thailand, during which I trained in Muay Thai kickboxing at a Thai gym. When I returned to the States, I was looking for something similar because I loved what it did for me – gave me stability and balance in my life. A friend took me down to his MMA gym; the first person I met is the coach I still have today. He talked me into boxing, saying once my hands and footwork were good, we could add kicks or whatever. Been boxing just about every day since. I wanted something that challenged me and showed me what I was made of. I was hoping it would give me opportunities to travel. Boxing has done all of that for me.
