When did you start boxing and why: I started going to the boxing gym when I was seven. My dad took me to the gym as a way for me to get fit and healthy because I was overweight.

Amateur record: 16-6

Career highlights to this point: Going to USA Boxing National tournaments across the country, including in West Virginia, Texas, Kansas City and Southern California, and winning at these tournaments.

What do you think is your greatest asset in the ring: I can adapt and I am an intelligent boxer.

If you weren’t boxing, what would you be doing? I would be watching my favorite show on Netflix, “Stranger Things,” or heling my community become a better place.

Who has been your biggest inspiration and why: My mom and dad are my biggest inspirations. They not only push me to be the best athlete I can be, but to also be the best in everything I do in life and to be a good person.

What motivates you the most: Being known as a world class athlete!

What are five things that most people don’t know about you: 1. I am shy at first, but once you get to know me I am really goofy. 2. When I was younger I played little league baseball, softball, basketball gymnastics and dance. 3. One of my grandfathers emigrated to the United States from Peru, my other grandfather emigrated from Vietnam and both my grandmothers emigrated to the United States from Mexico. 4. I was overweight when I was in the 3rd and 4th grades. 5. My hair is naturally curly.
