USA Badminton Collegiate Club League

The inaugural season is under way with Divisions in the Greater Boston Area (Boston University, Jambos, UConn, and UMass), Greater Philadelphia (Swarthmore College, Temple University, Haverford College, Hofstra University, and Princeton University), and PA West (Cornell University, SUNY Oswego, Carnegie Mellon University, and Case Western Reserve U).

In February 2018 USA Badminton we launched our inaugural Collegiate Club League using the IMLeagues platform with a goal to build into a regional championship.

USA Badminton is looking to foster a safe, just community of badminton athletes and breed competition through physical, emotional, social, and psychological growth.

What

A team vs. team, best of five match (all five disciplines - Men’s/Women’s singles & doubles, mixed doubles) league which consists of multiple Regions split into Divisions for structure to maintain the integrity and spirit of Badminton. As a league member your team would experience the benefits of an organized platform, a direct opportunity to connect with badminton athletes/students in your region, and being a member of USA Badminton under the United States Olympic Committee.

Who

All College and University club teams. Members must be full-time students and age 28 and younger (born after Jan. 1, 1989).

Goal

To unite college badminton clubs across the country. We aim to increase interest in badminton through community involvement and raise the floor of play culminating in a Champion being crowned.

Commitment

The initial eight-week season consists of playing home and away matches against all in Division opponents and possibly Non-Divisional League teams for a season total of Eight matches. Division winning teams would play in a Regional Tournament with those winners facing off to name an overall Champion!
