Dream Team Programs

The Junior Dream Team (JDT) is a program designed to identify talented young archers and bring them together for training camps, exposure to advanced coaching and competitions. Athletes are selected for the JDT based on a wide variety of criteria, including their performance at Team Selection Camp. Participation in the selection camp is a requirement for placement on the JDT.

The Recurve Junior Dream Team

Consists of 36 of the most promising cadet and junior recurve archers in the country who travel to the Easton Archery Center of Excellence in Chula Vista, California once per quarter for an intensive weeklong training camp. Between training camps, JDT coaches and archers continue to work together, using video and video conferencing with the ultimate goal of future international success at the World Championship, World Cup and Olympic levels.

The Compound Junior Dream Team

Consists of 35 of the most promising bowman, cub, cadet and junior compound archers in the country who participate in training camps and receive ongoing assistance from advanced level coaches throughout the year. This self-funded program was developed to help young compound archers to focus on technical and mental skill development, with the ultimate goal of developing future international success at the World Championship and World Cup levels.

Dream Team Selection Process and Application

Recurve and Compound Junior Dream Team Selection Camp

At the end of each calendar year, a varying number of open positions become available for new, qualified archers on the Recurve and Compound Junior Dream Teams (JDT). A JDT Selection Camp will be held as needed after the outdoor competition season (typically in November or December) to select primary and alternate archers to become JDT members. Alternates will be placed on JDT when additional openings become available beyond the initial selection process throughout the next calendar year.

A minimum set of criteria must be met to apply for a JDT selection camp. The selection camp procedures describe the process that is used to select archers for placement on JDT or as alternates.

There is no prerequisite program to apply to attend a Compound JDT Camp as an invitee, however the minimum criteria must be met.
