Orlando Magic Wheels

The Orlando Magic Wheels (OMW) is a member of the National Wheelchair Basketball Association (NWBA) where physically challenged athletes compete in fast moving basketball tournament play. Athletes, primarily with lower limb disabilities that range from amputations to paraplegia, participate in this team sport using wheelchairs. We take our name from the local NBA team, the Orlando Magic, and even wear the same uniforms.

Plantation Community Tennis Corporation

The Plantation Adaptive Wheelchair Tennis Program through the Plantation Community Tennis Corporation, a USTA (United States Tennis Association) Community Tennis Association, is a free program offered to any person (all ages and abilities) in the Broward County area. PCTC received a grant through the USTA for 6 specialized sport wheelchairs, available for use by the public. Our program meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at the Frank Veltri Tennis Center in Plantation, Florida. Our mission is to grow and develop the participants tennis skills, through the clinic, making wheelchair tennis more accessible in our area. Come and join the sport of a lifetime, all equipment is provided.

Tampa Lighthouse for the Blind provides training and other services that are designed to help each person served to maximize his or her independence, including, if applicable, enhancing prospects for gainful employment. All services are provided at no charge to the individual. All direct services are provided by staff trained in visual impairment and rehabilitation programs for the blind.

Team River Runner Orlando

Team River Runner (TRR), established in August 2004 by kayakers in the Washington, DC area, is a primarily volunteer non-profit organization run by a council of kayakers and overseen by a board of directors. TRR was initially established to help active duty military personnel wounded in Iraq and Afghanistan who were recovering at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. With the success there obvious and the opportunity elsewhere apparent, TRR expanded to other Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) chapter sites in 2007. TRR envisions a national network which creates innovative paddling programs designed to assist with the recovery of those injured while serving our country. Through paddle sports, TRR volunteers and partners provide local communities unique opportunities for the active, safe and positive support of healing service members and their families.
