From the President

Dear Friends,

The U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Movements embody the best our country has to offer. When U.S. athletes overcome obstacles and persevere through overwhelming odds, these men and women inspire us in their quest for competitive excellence, while motivating our youth to step beyond boundaries and lead healthier, more productive lives.

As the steward of the Olympic and Paralympic Movements in the United States, the United States Olympic Committee is responsible for preparing U.S. high performance athletes with every possible advantage to represent Team USA at the global level, and is committed to providing the support and training services athletes need to excel and realize their full potential.

Since its launch in 2013, the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation has received financial contributions from thousands of individuals across America. Our U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams benefitted from more philanthropic support at the Rio 2016 Games than ever before, and we aim to continue that momentum into PyeongChang 2018.

The USOPF is working strategically to direct this philanthropic support to best poise U.S. athletes for success. To that end, the foundation has established four focus areas: achieving sustained competitive excellence, serving America’s athletes and sports, inspiring Americans, and building the team of tomorrow.

U.S. athletes dedicate the better part of their lives to fulfilling dreams of representing their country at the Olympic and Paralympic Games. As Americans, we must share the responsibility to make these dreams come true by matching their athletic commitment with stable funding to encourage the journey. Just as every second, every step, and every shot counts in the Games, so does every gift to Team USA. I hope you will consider becoming a part of the Movement.

In Olympic spirit,

JON M. DENNEY
