Duluth Biathlon Club

The Duluth Biathlon Club prepares young athletes for regional, national and international competition in biathlon. It endeavors to instill within the athlete an appreciation of the sport, the practice of safe use of equipment and conduct of sportsmanship. Duluth Biathlon is a member of Minnesota Biathlon and practices are held at Snowflake Nordic Ski Center. Liability insurance is provided by the United States Biathlon Association for biathlon training and events on the ski trails and shooting range of Snowflake Nordic. Each member of the Duluth Biathlon Club must also be a member of the United States Biathlon Association, Minnesota Biathlon and Snowflake Nordic. Fees for each membership are based on age or level of competition. Rifles are available for yearly rental, according to availability. Club rifles are provided on-site for those who neither rent nor own.

Mount Itasca Nordic Ski Association & Biathlon

The Itasca Ski & Outing Club began in 1906 as a ski jumping club that is still active today. Over the years, additional skiing sports were added to Mt. Itasca’s venue base: biathlon, cross country, downhill, snowboarding and tubing. Olympians, Junior Olympians, Junior Worlds Team members, U.S. Ski Team members, and many others have competed here. The facility has hosted Junior Olympics, Nationals, Junior Worlds Team qualification events, and national SuperTour competitions, as well as high school, local and regional events. The venues at Mt. Itasca are awesome for beginners and competitive skiers. With full snow-making capabilities and professional grooming machines, Mt. Itasca is ready for fun early in the season. The main chalet houses restrooms, concessions, ticket sales, equipment rental and ski patrol headquarters. The chalet’s large windows overlook the downhill and jumping venues -- great viewing for spectators!

Nisswa NW Biathlon

Brainard Nordic Ski Club (BNSC) supports young athletes in a local biathlon program and those pursuing USSA level competitions with grants to athletes for national/international competitions outside of the state to defray travel costs, and volunteers for races. Our local Club, Nisswa NW Biathlon [NNW] is a member club of both MNBiathlon and USBA. We have been advancing the sport of Biathlon locally for the past 20 some years. Nisswa NW currently maintains two 50 meter biathlon ranges in the area, one in Nisswa with 2km of groomed trails and one just to the east of Nisswa that allows roller skiing in the snowfree months. BNSC has supported the athletes with grants to assist in travel expenses, and many active members of BNSC have or have had teenagers in the program or have participated themselves. Rifles are available for annual lease from Minnesota Biathlon for Youth and Juniors. Our program consists of year-round training. We frequently travel to other venues across the lower US and Alaska for training and racing; along with British Columbia, Alberta and Quebec in Canada.
