Personal: Though he was born with an underdeveloped left arm as a result of a condition called arthrogryposis, Tanner Wright has always been active in sports. Growing up in Texas, he started playing tackle football at age five and progressed to playing on his college football team at McMurray University before transferring to Hardin-Simmons University where he competes in track and field. He became interested in track and field as a high school football kicker as a way to become faster and stronger. He later learned about Paralympic track and field through his coach and made his Team USA debut at the 2017 World Para Athletics Championships in London....Son of Terry and Jessica Wright…Has a brother, Tommy Ray…Volunteers at Scottish Rite Hospital, where he used to be a patient, as a counselor for children with physical disabilities…Aspires to be an orthotist after graduation…Enjoys playing video games with his brother, learning to cook and being in his hometown of Fort Worth.
