Personal: Farmer has been playing sled hockey since age nine...He was born a bilateral amputee and first tried sled hockey at a clinic in Clearwater, Florida, in 2006...He has competed on several squads since his introduction to the sport, having played on the Tampa Bay Lightning Sled Hockey Team since 2007...Farmer began to make his mark on the national scene by attending USA Hockey’s Player Development Camps in 2010, 2011 and 2012...At just 14 years old, he made his first U.S. National Sled Hockey Team for the 2013-14 season and assisted the team in winning gold at the Winter Paralympic Games Sochi 2014...Received an ESPY Award from ESPN for the 2014 Best Male Athlete with a Disability...Voted as the International Paralympic Committee’s Best Male Athlete of the Sochi 2014 Games...Named Best Forward at the 2016 Pan Pacific Championships...Son of Matt and Patti Farmer...Has one brother, Ronan...Hobbies include fantasy football, reading Game of Thrones, hanging with friends, biking, watching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Lightning...Enjoys listening to rap and rock music...His idol is Canadian ice hockey player, Steven Stamkos.
