Personal: After enlisting in 2004 and serving in combat in Iraq, U.S. Army Sgt. John Joss is now part of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, having lost a portion of his right leg as result of injuries when the vehicle he was riding in was caught in an ambush in May of 2007...He has shown his skills competing alongside the best prone rifle shooters in the country having made one event final at the 2015 USA Shooting National Championships and finishing sixth overall at the 2016 U.S. Paralympic Team Trials...Current National record holder in the R6- Mixed 50m Free Rifle Prone SH1...In 2018, John won a silver medal at World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in France and won the first quota spot for the United States for the Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020 United States first Paralympic Games Tokyo 2020...Son of Amy Joss...Married to Carina Joss...Has two daughters, Aurelia and Helena...Hobbies include hunting, shooting, outdoor life, camping, hand-loading bullets, weapons repair, restoration and motorcycles.
