ACE awards over $200 thousand annually to Team USA athletes for education in the form of tuition grants. ACE | USOC Tuition Grants are intended to encourage athletes to further their formal education in preparation for lifelong career goals by defraying a portion of athletes’ tuition costs. An athlete's performance standards, financial need and other scholarships awarded are considered when determining an award. Applications are available on the ACE platform for current and retired Olympic, Paralympic, Pan American, Parapan American and Games alumni athletes.

Utah Eccles School of Business

The University of Utah Eccles School of Business is not currently accepting applications. Contact Megan Psyllos to learn more about when this opportunity may become available.

    TEAM USA EDUCATION GRANT DESCRIPTIONS

    COACHING & SPORT SCIENCES

    This grant would assist current Team USA athletes and retired Olympians/Paralympians to explore higher education opportunities in high performance coaching. Recipient(s) of this grant should intend to pursue coaching as a career. Opportunities could include, but are not limited to, coaching certification(s) and degrees with USOC identified accredited education programs, sports psychology, physiology and nutrition.

    OLYMPIC SPORT

    This grant is designated to support current Team USA athletes as verified by their NGB and the USOC competing in an Olympic sport. Recipients of this grant would be athletes who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited academic institution in pursuit of obtaining a higher education degree or approved certification.

    PARALYMPIC SPORT

    This grant is designated to support current Team USA athletes as verified by their NGB/HPMO and the USOC competing in a Paralympic sport. Recipients of this grant would be athletes who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited academic institution in pursuit of obtaining a higher education degree or approved certification.

    PAN/PARAPAN AMERICAN SPORT

    This grant is designated to support current Team USA athletes as verified by their NGB/HPMO and the USOC in a Pan American sport. Recipients of this grant would be athletes that are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited academic institution in pursuit of obtaining a higher education degree or approved certification.

    OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC ALUMNI (RETIRED)

    This grant is designated for Team USA athletes who have competed in at least one Olympic or Paralympic Games. Recipients of this grant would be retired Olympians & Paralympians who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited academic institution in pursuit of obtaining a higher education degree or approved certification.

    UTAH ECCLES SCHOOL OF BUSINESS

    This grant is designated for current competing Team USA athletes as verified by their NGB and recently retired (within the past 4 years) Team USA Olympians & Paralympians who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll at the University of Utah’s Eccles School of Business. This grant is intended to assist student-athletes in the undergraduate business program only.

    2002 OLYMPIC & PARALYMPIC WINTER GAMES LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP

    The Legacy Scholarship is intended to aid with academic costs for qualifying Team USA athletes who are currently enrolled or plan to enroll in an accredited academic institution in pursuit of obtaining a higher education degree or approved certification in the state of Utah. Eligible athletes include:

    1) Current Team USA athletes training and attending school in the state of Utah

    2) Retired Olympians/Paralympians who are attending school in the state of Utah

    Upon receiving a USOC Tuition Grant, students will be notified of next steps to receive payment. Grants are only permitted to be applied toward upcoming terms.  Athletes will not be reimbursed for previous courses. While the ACE Program administers the grants, a selection committee decides the final award amounts.

    The ACE | USOC Grants are made possible through the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Foundation and the generosity of the donors. Each year they are limited based on availability and funding. The ACE Program reserves the right to make amendments to the grants based on availability and interest every session and/or year.
