Community Racing

Endurance Races
Community racing is open to Track Category 1-4 riders every other Saturday. Each rider may self-select one of four categories: A, B, C or women, with Category A reserved for elite riders, B for amateur riders and C for development riders.

Sprint Races
Community racing is open to Track Category 1-4 riders every other Saturday. Each rider completes a 200-meter time trial for seeding into the appropriate sprint category. The sprint competition is a round-robin format, in which each rider races the other three riders in his/her bracket.

Advanced Moto-Pacing

Advanced moto-pacing is open to Track Category 3+ riders (or those with prior approval from the session leader) on various Tuesdays. Sessions are two hours in length (6-8 p.m.) and are led by Chris Schmidt. Check calendar for dates.

Coach-Led Training

Mondays 6:30pm-8:30pm
This is not an open training. This is an opportunity for teams and individuals alike to get track time to work on specifics. Every rider must have a coach in attendance with a valid USA Cycling Coaches License. Velodrome staff will be checking and you will not be allowed on the track without a coach.

This time should be utilized for training that is out of the ordinary for open training. Some examples include: team pursuits, standing starts, team sprints, moto-pacing and individual pursuit efforts. You will be able to have exclusive track time for efforts.

Please note: the velodrome staff cannot act as your coach, nor can you represent yourself as your own coach. You must have a coach at every session. An individual from a team pursuit or team sprint team may represent the team as a coach but must have a coaching license.

Coaches will work together to ensure all teams and riders have the opportunity to get in the workout they desire.

Passes and Membership

Pass holders are welcome to train at the OTC Velodrome during scheduled community open ride sessions and are offered discounts to weekly races, clinics and training sessions. Riders who wish to upgrade their pass will be charged the difference of their initial purchase.
