BELGRADE, Serbia – Taylor Lamont (55 kg) will wrestle for a bronze medal in Tuesday’s Greco-Roman medal round, as the second session of the U23 World Championships wrapped up on Monday night.

Lamont dropped his semifinals match to Poya Dad Marz of Iran, 5-1. Dad Marz took advantage of a first-period passivity call against Lamont and scored on a pair of gut wrenches to secure the victory.

Lamont, who wrestles collegiately at Utah Valley, will know his bronze medal opponent after tomorrow morning’s repechage round. This is the eighth time that the Mapleton, Utah native has been on an age-group World team. He won a 2016 Junior World bronze medal.

Tomorrow’s medal match round begins at 6:00 p.m. local time, which is five hours ahead of U.S. eastern time.

Both David Stepanian (63 kg) and Spencer Woods (87 kg) were officially eliminated from the tournament on Monday night, after both wrestlers who defeated them earlier in the tournament did not advance to Tuesday’s finals.

Greco-Roman wrestling continues tomorrow with the second group of athletes. Dylan Gregerson (60 kg), Alston Nutter (67 kg), Nate Moore (72 kg), Tommy Brackett (82 kg) and Nicholas Boykin (97 kg) all will begin their competitions in Belgrade tomorrow. You can find their first-round opponents below.

Wrestling tomorrow begins at 10:30 a.m. local time with the second Greco-Roman group beginning its competition, as well as Group One repechage wrestling. All matches can be streamed live on FloWrestling.
