It will be a busy weekend for women’s college programs, as teams from the NCAA and NAIA are active in a variety of tournaments and dual meet events.

One of the interesting things about the women’s college schedule this year is that there are numerous dual meets during the week, where the men’s college programs mostly compete on weekends. Most of the dual meets this week are during the work week, with only a few weekend bouts.Another aspect of the women’s schedule is the inclusion of tournaments. On the men’s side, almost all of the events are dual meets, tri-meets or quad-meets.

There are two tournaments this weekend, the Robert Horton Memorial Open at Emmanuel, as well as the Adrian’s Women’s Invitational at Adrian. There will be numerous ranked athletes and teams at these big events.

The No. 1 NAIA school is in action this week, as Wayland Baptist travels to No. 12 Texas Wesleyan tonight for the battle of Texas.

Also tonight, the top ranked school in the NCAA, McKendree, senda a large group to compete at the Wisconsin RTC Underground 3 card.

Another big-time NAIA match occurs on Friday, as No. 5 Life hosts No. 7 the University of Cumberlands.
