COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum has been nominated for USA TODAY’S Reader’s Choice best new attraction in 2020. The museum has been selected alongside 19 other new sites from across the country spanning a variety of venues and attractions. Individuals have the ability to vote once a day for their favorite new attraction on the USA TODAY website.
The 60,000 square foot museum opened this past July in Colorado Springs and pays homage to the athletes that represent the United States at the Olympic & Paralympic Games, embracing the core values of the movements: friendship, respect and excellence; determination, equality, inspiration and courage.
“Team USA and the Olympic and Paralympic Games have the incredible power to inspire and unite us, and I look forward to joining with fans from around the country and the world at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum in celebration of great athletes and unforgettable moments,” said Sarah Hirshland, USOPC CEO. “This permanent tribute honors the history and commitment of Team USA athletes, and the stories and experiences found in the museum will make us proud to call ourselves supporters of Team USA, while also serving as inspiration for the next generation of Olympic and Paralympic athletes and fans.”
Voting is open from now until December 31 and the public is able to vote once per day.
