On Monday, Beat the Streets Los Angeles postponed its annual Benefit, which had been set for May 16. A women's wrestling competition featuring Team USA athletes and international opponents, was part of the benefit.

Here is the message posted by Beat the Streets Los Angeles to its membership:

In light of the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, we’ve made the difficult decision to postpone our 6th Annual Benefit previously scheduled to take place on May 16th, 2020 until further notice.

Although we have paused our in-person programming, we remain committed to promoting physical fitness, healthy living, academic achievement, and character development for our youth. To that end, we are currently implementing the following activities:

* The Beat the Streets #MillionMinutes Challenge, a friendly competition amongst Beat the Streets Cities to keep our kids physically active (over 26,000 minutes logged by our kids so far!)

* Instagram Live workouts led by U.S. National Wrestling Team Members

* Weekly enrichment activities via our social media channels (reading incentives, art contests, technique videos)

* Providing resources, communication and guidance to our partners, coaches and mentors

You can follow the daily enrichment exercises on our Instagram. In the coming weeks we will continue to develop engaging home-based programming for our students, families, and coaches.
