USA Wrestling's Wrestler for Life program to begin accepting submissions for "Story of the Week"

By USA Wrestling/Wrestler for Life | April 09, 2020, 12:22 p.m. (ET)

USA Wrestling’s “Wrestler for Life” program will now be accepting submissions for a new feature: “The Story of the Week”. It can be about anything wrestling related, whether it’s a particular wrestling match you’ll never forget or a life lesson that the sport taught you. If your story is chosen, it will be featured on TheMat.com and winners will receive a pair of USA Wrestling socks.

Story submissions will be accepted at: wrestlerforlife@usawrestling.org

The goal of USA Wrestling’s Wrestler for Life program is to keep wrestlers engaged and connected after they are done competing on the mat.

Just because you’re not pulling up your straps and lacing up your shoes anymore, doesn’t mean you are no longer a wrestler. You have had those “water cooler” moments that remind people that you are of a pedigree that makes the toughest people on the planet.  It’s because no other sport requires the mental fortitude and discipline it takes to be a wrestler.  The sport instills the values of courage, hard work, perseverance and humility.  It forges character that lasts a lifetime. Submit your stories and share with others how this great sport shaped you.
