
NUR-SULTAN, Kazakhstan – Three more U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have received their draws for the World Wrestling Championships, and will start their competition on Sunday.
2012 Olympian Ellis Coleman (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) will open his competition at 67 kg/147.5 lbs. against 2018 World bronze medalist Meirzhan Shermakhanbe of Kazakhstan. This is Coleman’s fourth Senior World Championships appearance.
Competing in his third straight Senior World Championships at 97 kg/213.75 lbs. will be G’Angelo Hancock (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids). His opening match will be against Nikolai Krysov of Ukraine, who was seventh in 2019 European Championships.
Based upon a successful 2019 season, Hancock received the No. 3 seed at 97 kg/213.75 lbs.
In his second Senior World appearance Joe Rau (Chicago, Ill./Titan Mercury WC/Chicago RTC) will compete at 87 kg/191.5 lbs. and open against 2019 Asian Championships silver medalist Kumar Sunil of India.
Competition begins on Sunday at 11:00 a.m. local time, with action through the quarterfinals in these three weight classes. The semifinals at these weights begin at 6:00 p.m. local time. Nur-Sultan is 10 hours ahead of the U.S. Eastern Time Zone.
