It’s the week of the NCAA Div. I Tournament. While all of the wrestlers competing in Pittsburgh will be doing folkstyle this weekend, many of the competitors have wrestled their fair share of Greco-Roman in the past. Some are already prospects to compete at the Senior level in Greco-Roman in the future.

Below is a list, broken down by weight, of NCAA qualifiers with some notable Greco achievements.

This list is headlined by Junior World bronze medalist Sam Stoll of Iowa and Cadet and/or Junior World Team members Dack Punke of Missouri, Dom Demas of Oklahoma, Kimball Bastain of Utah Valley, Nick Reenan of NC State and Brandon Whitman of North Carolina. The list also includes Pan American medalists, Fargo champions, and multiple-time Fargo All-Americans.

All-in-all at this year’s NCAA Championships, there is one World medalist, six age-group World Team members, five Pan American gold medalists, one Pan American bronze medalist, two three-time Fargo champions, eight two-time Fargo champions, 15 Fargo champions, and 42 multiple-time Fargo All-Americans.

Many of the qualifiers in Pittsburgh wrestled Greco-Roman as youth, on the local, state and even national levels. Our research has pulled out those who have had major achievements in Greco-Roman at USA Wrestling’s Junior and 16U national events (as multiple Fargo placewinners) and at UWW international events.

If we have missed an athlete, just email gabbott@usawrestling and we will add it to the list. The idea is to recognize and promote the major Greco-Roman achievements of NCAA qualifiers, and we don’t want to miss anybody.
