ISTANBUL, Turkey – Two-time Senior World Team member Forrest Molinari advanced to the 65 kg semifinals in women’s freestyle at the Yasar Dogu International on Thursday in Istanbul, Turkey.

IN her only match so far, Molinari, who was fifth at the 2018 Senior World Championships, picked up a pin in 45 seconds over Rimma Ryssaeva of Kazakhstan in the quarterfinals.

Later today, she will face Alina Temirtassova, also of Kazakhstan, in the semifinals. Temirtassova won a bronze medal at the 2019 Senior Asian Championships and has competed in several age-group World Championships.

In men’s freestyle, two-time World medalist James Green was the only U.S. wrestler to compete today.

He dropped his first match, 4-2, to Haydar Yavuz of Turkey, who was fifth at the 2017 U23 World Championships. Yavuz went on to win his quarterfinal. Should Yavuz win his semifinal later today, Green will get pulled into repechage.

The semifinals will begin at 4 p.m. local time (9 a.m. ET) live on FloWrestling.org.
