Above is a video of John Smith taking on Sergei Beloglazov of Soviet Union in the 1990 World Grand Championship in Pittsburgh.

At the time, Smith was a 1988 Olympic champion and two-time World champion, while Beloglazov was a two-time Olympic champion (1980 and 1988) and six-time World champion.

It was the best of the best meeting up for a super match. Beloglazov came out of retirement and bumped up from 57 kg to meet Smith at 62 kg.

Smith went on to win the bout with a 6-2 decision.

Currently, Smith serves as the head coach at Oklahoma State University, the most successful active NCAA wrestling coach. Beloglazov resides in Ann Arbor, Mich., as the head coach of the Michigan Regional Training Center.
